K9 College
Our Training Process: Whether you take advantage of our undergraduate or graduate programs, you’ll find our training process to be among the most effective in helping you raise a happy and healthy puppy or dog.

Our curriculum and lesson process is based on techniques endorsed by the American Kennel Club’s Good Citizen Program and is designed to help you develop a stronger and closer bond with your dog. We also specialize in private behavioral issues training.
WEEK #1: Week one’s training lesson is designed to teach your dog to recognize their name as well as how to walk on a leash without pulling. By using the “Name Game” lesson we teach your dog to have a positive association with their name. We also review with your dog the “Look” lesson which is designed to pay attention to you and your commands.
WEEK #2: Week two covers “Sit and Stay” commands as well as how to keep your puppy or dog from jumping on people (with the “Off” command). Also covered in Week two is the “Leave it” command which teaches your dog to ignore or leave things alone at your command.
WEEK #3:
Week three covers
“Handling Skills” for your dog so they can be touched for grooming and handling
by your vet. Also covered is the Recall Command “Come” which teaches your dog
to come to you when you call them. The “Sit and Stay” commands are also covered
in Week three which shows you commands to move away from your dog while they
hold their positions.
WEEK #5: Week five builds on the “Down and Stay” command by increasing greater distance while your dog maintains their position. A Recall command is added to the “Down and Stay” position as well as a final review of all commands your dog may need extra help with.
WEEK #6: Week six is graduation week. Your dog will be able to demonstrate a firm grasp of all commands. If you’ve just completed our undergraduate program your dog will be ready at this point to take advantage of our graduate course study.
